Sideyard Studios is a full-service documentary production company based in Portland, OR. We specialize in human-centered stories that speak to the delicate moments that make us who we are. We love the serious and the quirky. We’ve done investigative films, portraiture, adventure and love stories.

We strive to take every story deeper than its logline. Sideyard has a decade of experience in conducting personal and far-reaching interviews that let us craft stories which honor a person’s experience and gives an audience the chance to listen, feel, and be inspired.

Sideyard was founded by filmmakers Winslow Crane-Murdoch and Cecilia Brown. Together they can bring a film from start to finish, with producing, directing, shooting and editing experience. They work well with big teams or out on their own, while bringing the same high production value to every story.

Their credits include the feature documentary The Quiet Epidemic (HotDocs, DocNYC 2022), and the documentary shorts Strong Grandma (True/False 2024) and Walking two Worlds (Tribeca, 2022).
